Barbara works full time in a middle school, but has always had a passion for helping girls and women overcome difficult experiences and symptoms that keep them from living life fully. She has worked with women for many years individually and in groups, exercises regularly, and has experienced the fullness of life that comes from applying clinical counseling principles with exercise of mind, body, and spirit.
Therapy is trauma informed and practical for daily living. With an eye on mindfully noticing our inner world (thoughts, feelings, and sensations) and building skills we are able to respond in new ways to stimuli. As a team, we will identify new actions in response that help to build a richer and more meaningful life. Bringing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy together, our work will seek to build flexibility and effective life choices based on who and what matters to you. We will cultivate a mindful presence and learn to respond in new ways to life's challenges. This process is aided by grounding and relaxation strategies and can be enhanced by your faith and spiritual practices.
Barb's passion for bringing holistic healing to other women led her to obtain her Personal Training certification in 2013 and Yoga Teacher Training Certification in 2020. She hopes to help inspire other women with their physical health goals. She exercises regularly doing a variety of activities including cardio, hiking, pickleball, strength training, and yoga. Meditation and mindfulness continues to be a work in progress!
